Applying as a business major, but not sure if I have enough business-related ECs?

I really only decided to be a business major last year, so I haven’t had that much time to develop business ECs. I’m applying to the business schools at BU, CMU, Cornell, NYU, UMich, UPenn, WashingtonU in STL, and USC. I’m a little worried that they think I should be a poly sci applicant/person interested in law and not business (though I am interested business law/administration/strategy)

Thanks for input

Colleges don’t expect people to have laser-focused ECs. What they want to see is your intellectual initiative and capacity to influence people around you. The fact that DECA or some internship at uncle’s business isn’t on your resume won’t be a concern. Your GPA, test scores, and engagement level will make you very competitive for your target schools. Stop worrying about what’s not there. What you have is solid enough. Good luck

You are not expected to have been solely focused on business since the start of high school. In fact, HS is a time when you should be spreading your wings and doing some different things. IMO you have a nice combination of ECs and they won’t hold you back from a b-school acceptance at all. Plus, your ability to speak publicly will be valued in the business world.
