<p>I recently submitted an application for FAFSA for the 2010-2011 year. The aid begins after July of 2010. I have a semester that begins in April and ends in July. Can I go back and apply for 2009-2010 to try to get aid for the semester? Will it erase my other application for 2010-2011? I'd really like the aid, but I don't want to start causing confusion. <p>They are 2 completely separate applications. You will have to get your 2008 income data for the 2009-2010 FAFSA. It shouldn’t cause any problems.</p>

<p>Unfortunatley I didn’t fill it out last year. I can go grab my return from 2008. This year I filled as married, but I assume for last years I have to file as single. But if I do this my school will see that I’m married now. Should I file it as married too?</p>
<p>I *think *it’s based on your marital status on the day you file. I would do that unless your school says otherwise.</p>
