financial aid

Hey guys,
Been taking some time off. so when do we apply for financial aid for the UCs? (if we're fall 09 applicants)
any feed back would be great! thanks!

University of California - Admissions

but what if I've already applied for aid for 2008? How can I apply again for 2009 under UC berkeley, UCLA, Davis and UCSD?

You just have your fafsa send to that school.

so do I go back to the account and just add the school's names? is that how this works/ please HELP

Fall '09 needs to be applied for now. Financial Aid does NOT renew itself. You have to submit a new application every year. The FAFSA website is up and running. Fill out a new application and include the schools you mentioned. Do this as quickly as possible.... Do not wait until March...

i always wait until i have completed my tax return before renewing my fafsa...actually i usually do it all on the same day for both my husband & i since we are both students & i like having the most accurate income info...so usually around the end of Jan-mid feb & you will still be fine...that's about the time that i work at the VITA f/a workshops to help students w/ their taxes & f/a counseling

to answer the OP's question... you renew your fafsa every year, so when you complete the info for your fafsa update you just add all the school codes for every school that you are applying for and make sure that you also keep your ccc on there as well because i have seen students in the past change their mind & stay an extra year at the CCC so it's a good idea just in case

Luvtoolearn- I used to do that, wait until tax return for hubby and I but now i just do it ASAP in early january because in most schools then you are considered an early applicant, where as if you wait until like March your still early but your not the first.

yeah...but since your still considered early anytime before the March deadline, why not wait until your info is completely accurate? Maybe i do that because its a habit from working in the tax field & then working at the workshops every year... we always ask the students to bring in their tax returns or their parents tax returns because one little change in income can make a huge difference...but in either case as long as they get it done by the early date. they should be able to get everything they qualify for.
