Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

^^ mee too!!! especially 2 A+'s for orgo and bio, two important subjects to my major. A in Physics too. I think my midterm grades are pretty impressive.

Do they gauge the difficulty and rigor of the course work? How’d they know if the courses I took/am taking is rigorous, or not?

xhongxkongx: Glad to help haha. Don’t ever doubt yourself, trust me applying can’t hurt, you never know what can happen. I wish you the best in the admissions process!

Yay I submitted mine. Feels like a weight off my shoulders haha. Does anyone know when I get to check if my materials are there or not

yes, they take into consideration your schedule and workload. if you’re taking 12 credits in your breathing major and get a 4.0, that’s not as impressive as a 3.8 in a hard science, for example.

and there’s no harm in applying. always remember me: 2.7 HS –> 3.5 state school (3.49 when i applied!) –> accepted!

@boysdontcry: they will look at the name of the class, like introduction to the biology world is definitely easier than molecular cell bio or evolution & ecology, orgo chem is harder than gen chem…

Good luck Castiel!

And everyone else!

Hmm. But if you’re a freshman/sophomore, won’t you be doing an intro class instead of say a more advanced level course? I’m taking 18 credits though.

And ironically, you’re our motivation!

@ironicallyunsure: how long it took them to process your documents? i submitted everything on 3/5 but nothing is marked off yet, except for the commonapp and the supplemental one.

haha thanks Justone, to you and everyone else as well!

when’s the fin aid app due?

March 15th!

Good luck everyone! We will be holding our breath for a long time…hopefully not too long though.

i didn’t feel like looking through all 49 pages of this thread, so i was wondering if there are a lot of prospective Bio and Society majors herrree?

Trying to gauge the competition ay. HEH

good luck everyone. I’m still wait for the interview then I don’t everything. does anyone know when the adcom would look at our application? Thanks

@phorphorus Yup, one very thrilled one right here.

how many people are applying to CALS, biological sciences???
Right now i know 2: me and Chris. Both are international and both are going cc in CA

^ I would say a lot. Even if not on cc there will be a lot since that is a very popular major.

when i applied for fall, i had everything in the day it was due, so march 15. they didn’t bother updating the online system for us lol but i got a decision back in may (right before one of my finals, i was SO bummed :frowning: ) but for spring, i got stuff in the last week of september and mailed last-minute things out on the due date and heard back the week of thanksgiving (while i was visiting, yay)

@Castiel: yeah but in this thread, i think there are few more people.
@ironicallyunsure: thanks!!! looks like my status will not be updated till the decisions are released even though i tried to send everything in one week earlier than the deadline lol. Should i call to make sure they received my documents?
