Applying for financial aid and its impact on acceptance rate

I am an international student from Turkey. I want to apply for financial aids of the universities I am applying to. How much does it reduce my chances of getting accepted from them? I am talking about need-aware universities.

Nobody knows exactly.

My guess for international applicants:

To calculate average admissions chances if full pay and applying for need aware colleges, look up the overall acceptance rate and divide by 2

To calculate average admissions chances if applying to need blind colleges and if requesting aid and applying for need aware colleges, look up the overall acceptance rate and divide by 3

If you can’t attend without financial aid, does it matter? You have to apply for it and if the school considers need (for domestic or international) you have to apply.

What kind of cost are you seeking ? There are universities that provide substantial merit to international, depending on your statistics.

No one can give you an exact answer. BUT I will say…if you need aid to attend, apply for aid. An acceptance without the funds to attend will do you zero good!
