After I complete my freshman year, can i apply for more internal scholarships and financial aid at the university I am attending? If so, what are the chances of getting more aid?

You have to re apply for financial aid every year you are in college. If your family income/assets remain about the same your financial aid will probably stay about the same. If the family financial situation improves the aid will probably go down. If the family financial situation worsents the need based aid may improve.

Schools do have additional merit scholarships for returning students. Not as many available or as generous as for freshman generally. Impossible to tell what sort of chance you would have to get one.need based

Thanks for the info.

I was hoping to apply for more merit scholarships like a deans scholarship or something. I don’t really know yet and won’t know for a while.

So they aren’t as generous to award scholarships to returning students? I was hoping they would be, especially if the student is doing very well in their classes. Oh well

My university says that they work really hard to retain all their students for the next year but I bet all colleges say that. I still hold out hope though

Check with your school financial aid office. There are often a number of scholarships reserved for returning students, as incentive to do well.

Depending on how well you did the past year, you can usually get them to raise your scholarship if you already got one. That’s what I did :-)

Thanks for all the advice/input guys. It’s been extremely helpful
