hey everyone,
i'm currently debating between cornell and another school that's offering me a merit scholarship. i would love to attend cornell but the costs are about $10,000-$15,000 higher per year which worries me. i'm hearing different things about financial aid for sophomore year onward..some people report receiving MUCH more aid after doing well for their freshman year. if so, i would feel more financially secure with cornell. has anyone heard or experienced this before? thanks!

The only way your FA would change later on is if your family’s financial situation should change later on - more siblings in college, more medical expenses, parent(s) losing their job. Your FA could also go down if you family’s financial situation should improve. Cornell doesn’t give merit aid, so it wouldn’t matter if you should do well in school or not.

Your financial aid shouldn’t change much if your family’s financial situation remains the same.
