I have my heart set on entering Stony Brook. I am from Myanmar(Burma) and I finished my secondary school last year.
I took the IGCSE exams and my results are:
Biology A*
Physics A*
Chemistry A*
English A*
Mathematics A*
Additional Mathematics A
My IELTS score is 7.5 and I am taking the SAT in December 2 so I can apply for the fall term next year. I predict I will get about 1320 on the SAT.
I contacted the Admission Office and they said that they prefer if I took 2 A level (equivalent to AP) classes. Apart from that, I meet all the requirements. When they said they “prefer” 2 A level classes, is it a must? And do I stand a chance of getting admitted into Stony Brook with my current grades?
