Applying for the design grad school with a below average GPA

I had a bachelor degree in social sciences with some experience in design and want to study industrial design. My GPA is like 2.4 I also had some personal issues that results in this low GPA. I actually did a transfer in college and before my GPA was about 3.1
Will I still have chances to get into a decent art/design school? I am so frustrated.

Speak frankly with your current art/design instructors and ask for their plainest opinions of your portfolio and potential.

thank you!!! I will talk to them, even though I felt not very comfortable to mention my GPA.

be completely open and transparent with them. Find out the truth. Tell your GPA. You want an accurate reading, not someone falsely telling you good things. If there are deficiencies, you want to know them. Steel yourself – to have honest feedback about your chances. That’s what will happen at grad school, if you get there.

Do you think that I should talk to the admission office about the GPA concern this early?
