Applying Late.

I agree 69%ile will not get you into any schools that are notable, especially a late applicant. My friend applied to Andover, SPS and Deerfield this year with a 67 ssat, got rejected by all of em.

i applied this year and i don't know if i was late or not, but since i already got my decisions...not, so that doesn't help.
sorry

I agree it would probably be extremely hard to get into AESD with a 69th percentile SSAT, but keep in mind, xcyuen, that your friend could have applied with a 99 and gotten rejected from Andover, St. Paul's, and Deerfield.

You won't find Loomis information on the BSR because the admissions office says that they chose not to subscribe last year. It was formerly a free site, but some of the information previously posted on the school was inaccurate and had not been provided or validated by the school. Loomis admissions suggested using www.tenschools.org for information or call their office for the more accurate up-to-date information.

Thanks .

As you may be qualified to be accepted at a certain school in regular admissions, if applying late you would have to be over qualified in a way. There would need to be some amazing reason why they would take you so late in the game...because there are many waitlisted who are qualified as well.

No offense but you ahve no cahcne getting into any of the tops schools if you apply late...

Athletes are pretty much the only ones who can get in to the top schools when applying late; perhaps some celebrities kids, too.

ha! I applied with a 99% SSAT and still didn't get in.. :P Well, admittedly, I was applying for grade 11 which is much harder. Taking everything into consideration though, it would be extremely hard to get into the schools that you've mentioned as a late applicant. Not even many of the people who applied on time and were qualified got in. Maybe you could consider some other schools which you like as well?

Just so you know, Loomis has no BSR.com description. I couldn't find it in like september. after I found it in like July, so we called the school. They had removed there stats from the website because they were getting to many rolling aps of unqualified apps. Thats what they told us anyway. :) Also, I heard when people saw there stats, which i thought were good, the AESD croud didn't even get the catolouge, and they lost a lot of great applicants. I, personally, loved Loomis, but I did not apply to loomis because it was like 2,5hours away and my mom would not let me.

prepster310 - That's too bad because Loomis is a great school We live over 3000 miles away and our s went there. Was it because your parents want you to be a day student at a prep school?

anyway jon im sure that you're going to do great! i've been looking at all your posts and u seem to be a very ambitious guy you're going to do fine
