Applying Senior Year

I am planning to join some more clubs senior year and I was wondering if it was okay to put it on the common app. I will obviously be only involved in these clubs for 1 year. Also, if I meet the requirements for a school/club reward, am I allowed to put that I have received it? I haven't received it yet because the school year hasn't started yet and I am applying early action. I'm applying to UofM Ann Arbor, would it look bad if I joined clubs at the last minute (senior year). Thanks

you can put those clubs on the common app, just don’t make it look like you are doing it to fill the spaces. for the awards, you probably shouldn’t say you’ve already received them. You could (and I had a friend who did this and got into Dartmouth ED) write “prospective recipient of _____” or something along those lines.

The Admission Officer would not be fooled by that. Anyway, it would not show any passion of you in it.

I dont see what the problem is with putting that. Seems like the right thing, if you eanred the award you should be able to put it down. It’s not like you didn’t actually earn it, you just didn’t recieve it due to a unsolvable issue.
