I'm a senior right now, and I joined debate club and MUN my junior year of high school and am still doing them. With debate club, that was its first year of existence and I have leadership roles in it and went on to states and nationals. I'm the head of MUN now in my senior year. Will colleges suspect I joined these clubs just to pad my resume? I genuinely didn't, I joined them because I suddenly became interested in them. How can I be convincing in my enjoyment of these clubs?

No you’re fine. You can mention in your app that you joined the first year it was available.

@guineagirl96 Where on the common app do you suggest I mention it? In the additional info section?

Yes

@AnnieBeats Are you saying yes in that it looks bad?

I think AnnieBeats was referring to yes, put it in additional info, but im not sure (that’s what I was going to answer). You could also mention it in the activity description itself if you have enough room.

I was referring to where you can put it. For the common app, I would reccomend putting it under the additional info section.
