Applying to be in Living Learning Communities

Are they competitive to be placed in compared to normal dorms? I’m curious.

It depends on the one you apply for. The ones that are situated in really nice housing (French floor, Global Living) are competitive because everyone wants an Arrupe dorm, but some of the others are much less competitive. Is there a specific one you’re interested in?

Well I’m primarily looking at the ones they have as options for first year students; particularly Living Well and Explore DC. The Bayit also looks really interesting.

I don’t know much about Living Well, but I was on the Explore DC LLC last year as a freshman, so I can speak to that. We did trips to the National Zoo, the African History museum, which was great because tickets were insanely hard to get, and had a boat cruise on the Potomac near finals. There were a bunch more events, but those are the ones I remember. I don’t think it was particularly competitive as long as you put a decent amount of effort into answering the application. Feel free to ask any questions you may have!
