Living Learning for Freshmen?

I'm a high school senior accepted to Georgetown EA, and it's my absolute first choice though I don't know if I'll be able to come yet due to financial aid issues. I'm looking into the Living Learning communities and it looks like some of them are open to freshman, and they sound really cool (I'm mainly looking into the Global Living Community and Justice and Diversity in Action). One issue is that I don't know if it would be a good idea to wait for this until sophomore year since maybe freshman housing is important for bonding with your class? I'm also wondering if I would be allowed to apply for these if I'm not enrolled yet - the deadlines for applications are in late February, before I get my financial aid decision letting me know if I can afford to come. Should I consider applying anyway?

Based on what we went through last year, I believe all freshmen are expected to be in one of the four freshman dorms. I think you will find freshman bonding and settling in to your new college environment to be important. You can apply for community living your sophomore year. You may also want to check with student housing to confirm this but just based on the timeline, I think you have to be a sophomore.

The JDA Living Learning community does accept freshman. The February deadline does not apply to freshman. There are some freshman that apply for the programs to avoid the freshman dorms.
