Alright, so I'm trying to put together a final list of schools to which I'm applying in the fall, and it's hard! Any other '09ers having a hard time with this? Have most of you even started thinking about this yet?

Uh, apparently, apply to some schools last minute, like I did. :) I found Dartmouth a month before the application was due, and after I had my interview, I knew it was my top choice. The other top schools I applied to (Cornell, Yale, and Tufts) didn't even bother to give me interviews.

So yeah, Dartmouth was really nice to me and after I visited the school, I knew it was right for me.

By the way, a lot of kids already know where they're going to apply and have already started on their essays. Don't think you're disadvantaged though; you have plenty of time.

I've kind of forced myself to get my final list done, not only for me, but for my mom since this is going to be an expensive fall. Just totaled the cost of tests and application fees...approx. $475! (6 schools, 3 Subject Tests, ACT)

Luckily I've been planning most of this out for the past 4-5 years, its just tough now that I really have to narrow everything down. I did a bit more research this past year and gave up a few schools that I thought I would like, and I'm comfortable with these decisions. Perhaps I'll be able to eliminate 1 or 2 more mid-reaches over the summer since I've grown to like my safety a bit more.
