I’m a Year 8 student from Australia and I’m planning to apply for a few Ivy League Universities. I know I’m fairly young to be worrying about university (as I’m only 13) but I want to know what chance Australians have applying to the top U.S universities. I know it’s harder to get into Ivy League when you’re from another country, but I want to at least try. I go to Manly Selective, which is ranked 7th on the HSC Selective School Ranking in NSW. Also, is there anything I could do to make my application look interesting & stand out?
The best way to stand out is to truly be passionate about something. If you love golf, go out on golf tournaments and be good at it. If you love writing, do writing in your spare time. If you want to see the world, start a travel blog. The last thing you want to do is try to tailor your application to what you might think admissions committees are looking for. Be yourself, do good in school, take rigorous courses, and do well on the SAT/ACT.
