Hi there!
I'll be applying for University this year, and have recently decided that I wanted to apply to the UK (specifically Oxford, UCL, LSE). I wasn't planning on taking the SATs, but since they are recommended for Canadian students, I'm going to take them in June.

Since I will be taking the SATs, my dad said that I might as well apply to American Universities as well. The only problem is that I would have to take Subject Tests as well. And since I hadn't planned on applying to the States before, I didn't plan in advance.

Firstly, I was wondering if there were Ivy League's that didn't require Subject Tests. I don't know too much about the American system, so I don't know how much they are required.

Also, when are American University applications due? Because it is possible for me to take subject tests for June, and then take the SAT in early October. Or would that be too late? (But consider that it maybe be my only option).
Or would you do it the other way around - take SATs in June (I have May off school, so I could study) and take the Subject Tests in October? Which one is more important to your application?

Thanks so much!
Any other advice would be much appreciated :)

There is no single due date for US applications. You can answer many of your questions by looking at each school’s website.

I think the last month to take the SAT/subject tests is the November/December of the year you’re applying. So if you’re applying for Fall 2012, then the latest you can take it in November/December 2011. However, make sure with the schools you’re applying to. Also, many public institutions do not require SAT Subject Tests, but out-of-state tuition is ridiculous for most schools.

Like the poster above me said, check with the individual schools that you like, because a lot of schools have different requirements.

Thank you so much!
I’ll take a look at the university websites :)

Where do they recommend SATs for Canadians? None of the kids at our Canadian HS who have gone there have written SATs so I thought I woudl look it up. No where can this be found:

[Canada - North America - Information by country/region - Information for international students - Study - Home](http://www2.lse.ac.uk/study/informationForInternationalStudents/countryRegion/northAmerica/canada.aspx)

[International Qualifications - University of Oxford](http://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate_courses/international_students/international_qualifications/index.html)

And most definitely UCL does not require SAT, APs or any other standardized score for Canadians (I checked on this last year for someone vis a vis quite a few emails back and forth with the school).
