Hey guys, first post here :-)

Just had a question regarding the importance of SAT II Subjects Tests in Ivy League schools.
I'm an American living abroad and so I don't have guidance counsellors to ask these kinds of things, so I thought I'd give it a shot here.

So I was studying for the Japanese and French Subject Tests (I had been studying for about a month,) and at some stage during May, I called Notre Dame to get some admissions information. I asked the person on the phone how much weight is put on SAT II Test subjects and she said: "To be honest, no schools really put that much emphasis on the Test Subjects. Just concentrate on the SAT test itself and you'll be fine." So with that information, I tossed away my SAT II studying and went head first into Math, Reading and Writing.

Then I was talking to a friend 3 months later (last week,) and she said that you need to have at least 2 SAT II test subjects when applying to any Ivy League school. The SATs are in a month and I've forgotten most of the stuff that I studied back in May because the lady in Notre Dame told me not to bother pursuing the Test Subjects. I'm kind of at a loss here because now my top 3 schools won't accept me with just my SATs.

So in a last ditch attempt, I thought I'd run it through here: Is there any point applying to an Ivy League school sans the SAT Test Subject scores disclosed? Will they bother reviewing me with just the SAT? I'm looking (..or was looking,) into UPenn & Columbia and both say that you need SAT II. Anything I can do? Is there any chance they'll review me anyway?

Thanks in advance!
