I applied to lums this year but I couldn't get in. The reason for that I believe is my lack of a's in o levels. I've heard that they admit students with 6 a's or above. I have 4 a*'s, in maths, physics, islamyat and English. A in chemistry and b's in rest. I realize that they basically only see your a's in o levels. If you're 8 or 7 a's then you're definitely in. But a's are a little too LESS. :(
I'm thinking of applying again. And I need to know whether I would stand a chance. My dad asked the admissions office recently that should reappear in some o levels subjects to increase my number of a's and they flatly discarded the idea. They said that having 5 a's is not a problem and there is no harm in applying again. But I'm not at all convinced. During my sisters orientation last year they said that '80% of you have 6a's or above'. Now what does this show lums?
So I need to ask, what should I do to increase my chances of getting admitted? I had 3 a's and one b in alevels this year. In maths, physics, chemistry and aict respectively. So I'm in the safe zone here. I'll give sat 2 in November and hopefully ace it. Want is the minimum score I should get? (sat gives you an 'upper hand'). Then I'll join an academy for the entry test and ace that too, iA. Is this enough? What should I possibly do more? I really need advise so please help anyyyyyyyyyybody here.

hey, Lums why?
Apply abroad. You have a vast chance. I also wasted two years waiting for lums. I advise you don’t do it.

Applying abroad is not an option for me.
You’re discouraging.

My friend was accepted earlier this year. His entrance exam went well , but fsc scores were not so good. He is studying accounting and finance. So what we are told in school is that it all boils down to the entrance exam score.
A cousin is studying economics from lums and i remember his A-levels result which was 3As 2Bs

Yes I’ve heard that too. Entry test really matters but o levels does too. Maybe your friend got a good score in matric.

As a matter of fact yes his score in matric was high ( 970/1050) and in fsc it went down to 900/1100

Well in matric he did brilliantly and his fsc score isn’t bad if not extraordinary.

900 is BAD for UET … for other schools like giki, nust and pieas a good entrance exam score can save you.
Why dont u consider LSE(lhr not london, lol) or IBA,khi ? I mean are they not so good or what?

True entry test matters alot and I’ll try to act or next year… But of you’ve got 7a’s above in o levels… You’re more than halfway in.
I want to do Cs and lse doesn’t offer that. And I live in Lahore, Karachi isn’t an option.

CS? Applied to fast, isb or fast, lhr ? Its not that hard to get in and the good thing is everybody from fast gets a job! Sis had a 2.8 gpa , still managed to get a GOOD job lol

I didn’t because I was out of city while their admissions were open. :
