Applying to McGill university for undergraduate Sociology

Hey:)

I’m an international high school student from Azerbaijan, and I’ve been stressing out so much because I’m about to apply to McGill, I wanted you guys to give me an idea whether I’d be accepted or not…

In freshman year, I had 4.7/5 GPA

sophomore year, 5/5 GPA

last year in high school, 5/5 GPA

My IELTS- 7.5

My SAT- 1240 (I know it’s a bit below average, but I thought that my IELTS would make up for it, and there wouldn’t be a necessity for SAT…)

I have online certificates of Introduction to Sociology, History lessons, Pre university calculus, introduction to social psychology, and etc.

The one thing is that, my last year in high school, I had to transfer from a private school to public school for financial reasons, and I’m uncomfortable whether it would affect my admission quality…

So what do you think? would I be accepted if I applied ?

I doubt if anyone here can interpret an Azerbaijan secondary school record. Financial aid for international students is very limited.

hi
excuse me for asking, are you in any way familiar with the McGill’s admission process, or is it your personal opinion ?

Admission to McGill is very transparent but no minima are published for Azerbaijan.

Financial aid for internationals is available but limited.

Lack of financial aid wouldn’t really be a problem. Would it be likely for me to get in, even without a financial aid?

SAT scores are only considered for US applicants. I mentioned financial aid because you posted

You should call the University and speak with someone to understand the process for a student from your country. The admissions folks are incredibly helpful. Note that Sociology is in the Faculty of Arts. Best of luck!

thank you so much!
