Applying to Ohio State with Dyslexia

Included under OSU’s Admissions Criteria they have these two items listed:
High school performance if adversely affected by physical, mental or learning environment factors
Eligibility for and likelihood of benefiting from organized support services at Ohio State

Does this mean they will consider a lower level of course rigor if my son is dyslexic? He has a weighted GPA of 3.8 and ACT of 28 but is not in any Honors, AP or IB courses? Also, his school does not rank and we are OOS. If anyone has any info on whether colleges that typically prefer to see an Honors track, do they accept students with lower levels of rigor if dyslexic if other scores are in range of what is usually admitted? Any info would help. Thank you.

Ohio State use the same language on their admission criteria page http://undergrad.osu.edu/apply/freshmen-columbus/who-gets-in so it appears that would be considered in their holistic review process.

Hi WWA Parent,
I know this tread is old and this is a long shot, but im curious how your students admissions went with OSU. My daughter is almost in the exact same position. Her ACT was 27 with a 3.7 GPA. She wasnt diagnosed unitl after her Jr. year. She was denied entry. Was there any special consideration for your son? Did you have to seek other avenues for admissions?
