Applying to schools with separate engineering/arts schools as potential engineer

I'm applying to a few schools with separate Engineering and Arts and Sciences schools. I am a potential engineer, though still undecided, and am planning on taking maybe intro to engineering classes to see how I like it. Which one would I apply to?
Thanks!

What schools are you applying to or did you already apply to? We’re looking at the same types of schools.

At some schools, the engineering division (or a specific engineering major) is harder to switch into than out of, but it is also more selective for freshman admission. In some other schools, admission may be to a specific major, and it is not always obvious which is more selective (and harder to transfer into once enrolled). As this is very school dependent, the answer may vary from one school to another.

Also, note that if you start in the arts and science division, you would still need to follow the engineering curriculum in your freshman year (at least math and physics, possibly also chemistry and computer science, depending on the major you are looking at) if you want to keep the option open to switch into engineering without delaying graduation.
