If i don't get into AEM, does it hurt my chances to get into my second choice school (CAS) to just major in Economics...and also is the Econ program at CAS good? Is it hard to transfer to AEM after you get into another college?

Yeah, that's a good question. I also want to know if CAS's economics is good or not... and I am also not sure about the transfer...

annnnyone???

CAS Economics is very broad, the only requirements for majoring in it are a couple of required courses. The rest is the plethora of upper level economics courses to choose from.

Is it good? Yes.
Is it UChic, Harvard, or MIT Econ? No.
Is it anything like AEM? No.

So if what you are looking for is AEM, CAS Econ isn't AEM. They take two different perspectives on the same subject. AEM is an applied subject, and incorporates mostly business, be it accounting, management, or finances into its curriculum. CAS Econ is theoretical, as any pure economics degree is.
