Applying to UCLA Winter '09

Is it too late to apply for winter semester? what about spring? My counselor just ran over my schedule and I am a semester early. I am an honors student with a 3.83 gpa. Major: Economics. I'm finishing at my JC in fall of this year either way, so if there is any possible way to still apply, please let me know.

UCLA doesn't take winter applications. You have to apply in Fall 2009 in November for the Fall 2010 Semester.

but i have heard that people HAVE applied. and i don't really want to sit on my thumbs for a semester...

Winter Quarter (January - March)
While we have been open to new students in a few majors in recent years, we do not anticipate being open to new students for future winter quarters.

Application UCLA: Winter Quarter 2010 July 1–31, 2009
^ for 2010

Also, Winter quarter does not accept a large portion of majors. I think they only opened it for Engineering last time. So you're probably going to have to apply for Fall.

well, "winter quarter" is listed as "2010" because it's jan-march, correct??? so that means this UPCOMING winter

Yes ...So that obviously also means that Winter for 2009 is over.

i wasn't sure the exact timeframe...but you know what i mean. regardless, the filing period for THIS UPCOMING winter session is the month of july?

Yes, but you can't apply if they dont offer your major.

Winter Quarter applications for UCs are on a rolling basis. Each year they will evaluate which majors have room for new applicants. With that said, UCLA Winter transfers only accept major applicants to The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science. Economics is a L&S major and only open to applicants during the Fall transfer period.

winter apps are only for engineers... if ur not an engineer you'll simply have to wait until fall
