I'm considering USF as a transfer school, because I'm just doing awful with the course load of Engineering and I need a change of scenery most likely. Since I have less than 60 credits I suppose I'll post SAT/ACT Scores as well. But I am considering a major that I am a lot more attuned to (did well in my Economics classes)

SAT: 1190/1600
ACT: 24
HS GPA: 2.78
College GPA: 1.51 (screwed up big time here) (going to Penn State)
Home State: PA

So question being, am I at a point of no return going to USF, the transfer would be because, my parents are moving to San Francisco, and going to USF I would be close to my grandparents in Florida. While I know I totally messed up in College, is it at the point of no return in terms of trying to get into USF?

Getting into USF now as a lower level transfer (between 30 – 59 credits) with a 1.5 GPA is not likely going to happen. I’m pretty sure USF requires a minimum 3.00 GPA for lower level transfers. Too, lower level applicants with a course completion ratio below 67% will be denied. You should phone USF admissions (813 974-3350) to see if they can do anything for you.

What you might consider doing if you move to Florida is enroll in a community college, get your grades up, and then transfer to USF after completing A.A. degree. USF even has “guaranteed admission” for local community college graduates of Hillsborough CC, Pasco Hernando CC, and St. Pete College. Load up on as much higher math and statistics as you can at CC getting ready for economics. Good Luck!
