Applying under ED and EA

Hi,
I'm planning on applying to UPenn and UChicago early. UChicago has a nonrestrictive EA policy, but I was still wondering if I apply early to both of them, it'd hurt my chances of getting into both of them...

Is this true???

Makes no difference, neither will care if they knew, and actually neither will even know you applied to other unless you tell them.

Isn’t UPenn early decision?
“IMPORTANT NOTE: As noted above, a student may apply Early Decision to only one institution”.
(from site)
So if you want to apply to penn early then you can only apply to penn

^ Sorta. You can only apply Early Decision to one school but at the same time you can apply to as many EA schools you want making sure that you know that if you get in ED to Penn you MUST attend.

Neither will know.

Yeah they won’t know so it wont’ affect your chances

does this apply for SCEA too?

[Early Decision and Early Action](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>Facts About Applying Early Decision or Early Action – BigFuture)
on college board website it says that one cannot apply early anywhere else if applying to one early decision college

You cannot apply ED to more than one school, but if you apply ED to one school, then you may or may not be allowed to apply EA to other schools. It depends on the ED school’s policies

Each SCEA school, Stanford and Yale, requires that, if you apply EA to it, you cannot apply ED or EA elsewhere. Otherwise, ED schools usually allow you to apply EA elsewhere and EA colleges usually allow you to apply ED or EA elsewhere (but there are exceptions particularly that some EA schools allow you to apply EA elsewhere but not ED).

I know that UPenn offers ED (binding), but UChicago offers non-restrictive EA…
I understood Chicago’s policy as “you can apply to other colleges”
Can someone clarify???
