Applying with a 3.5 GPA

This is not a chances thread because I know I have “no chance”. But I visited Amherst this summer and it was amazing, I loved everything about it.

My SAT superscores to a 2200 with a 770 Math II and will be submitting November Lit and Physics.

I’d say I’ve got a pretty cool profile and good ECs, but nothing outstanding. Nothing that would make you guys think a lowly 3.6 GPA can get in.

I’m wasting your time with this thread because I loved the school and you know maybe I’m that 2% that gets accepted when he’s not in the top 10% (which, in my class, is 3 people that joined for the IB years and thus have only a weighted GPA).

Maybe it’s a waste of my time and my money but as Robert Browning said, “Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp. Or what’s a heaven for?”. So don’t bother chancing me :)

Apply if you would like to go. Right now all you can do to change your odds is write good essays, so make sure those are perfect.

You sound like me. Good luck! I hope we both get in :)
