Don't know if it will help, but here's a snapshot of our son's decision process. It's about West Point but should be relevant to USNA.

He got his offer of admission to West Point on a Saturday and had his acceptance card in the mail on the following Monday. Initially I thought he was not being mature in his quick decision. So I asked him how come he made his decision so fast. His answer was interesting.

He said:" Dad I want to be in the army infantry. West Point is the best place to go to become a military leader in the infantry. Why would I wait to accept their offer?"

As you may have guessed, our son is a "keep it simple" kind of guy.

Good luck to all of you during your decision making. Say a prayer and be thankful that you have the quality choices that few ever get the chance to make.

You seriously aren't going to turn your back on the golden dome are you????? As much as a convert I have become on USNA, my heart bleeds Blue and gold (not Navy blue and gold though....but the blue and gold for our Lady, Notre Dame). :) In fact I have already "called" the Navy/ND game this year for the tickets and my family has sworn me to keeping the Notre Dame flag biggest and on top of any Navy stuff on the motorhome. :) Big time ND family. If you have questions, though, seriously about ND, let me know. I'd be happy to try to answer them. Congrats on your acceptances.

Best wishes with your decision JamTex. It's great to have the ball in your court! Even if a little daunting...Enjoy the results of your hard work!

Heh. It's funny. I could tell you all these facts about the Naval Academy and the Navy, but I could also cite the same amount of facts about ND. Am I conflicted? Just a little :)

There is always a chance USC could lose.........nah!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Uncle is a big ND fan. His basement looks like a Fighting Irish shrine. So is my neighbor. I'm just looking forward to the unveiling of yet another National Championship banner at the Coliseum this fall. USC costs a mint to go there--I just watch the games and tell my son that I personally pay for their new uniforms every year! Thank goodness he's a senior!
