appointment update

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you get sworn into the reserves before going into NAPS as well...and you get paid the $900 or so a month.

Also the kids go to the Academy pre-prep and NAPS.

You do get sworn in before you go to NAPS. However its in the Naval Reserves from what I've been told? :s Don't mark my words but that's what I've been told. Also since room and board is provided at NAPS your stipend is much less. My stipend before Taxes at NMMI would be double that pretty easily. And yes the end of July i go to the academy for a week before prep school. Not Cape MAy

I am still hanging in there, kinda discourage over the 200 alternates number as well as the 'most appts. given out already' statement.

If it is intended for me to go there, then I will be accepted, if not, then maybe god has something else in mind for me.

All in all, we will see, and I will be sure to let everyone know how things are going!

From The USGA Web site maybe there is still a chance:
Prospective students and appointees,

First, thank you for your desire to be a part of the CGA family. Please be patient as you wait to hear from CGA about your appointment or to receive your admissions packet if you already have an appointment. We take your application very seriously and we want to make sure we spend ample time considering you for an appointment.

Thank you again for your interest and your patience.

It's just a hunch but I think some appointments will be coming out next week. Stay tuned! :D

hope you are right

We got invite to Chesapeake & Potomac chapter of USCGA Parents Assoc for "prospective" members of class of 2011 event on 4/21...have to wonder if our son will still be "prospective" and "alternate" at that time!!!

I would hope he would know by 4/21

The CGA knows most schools require a deposit by May 1. I think they would do people the courtesy of letting them know a bit before then. There could be some straggler appointments later if people turn down their spot.

yea my dad told me about that. Like we would sign the thing for the other college just in case, and if a spot is turned down at CGA than I would gladly take it and forfeit the money put into the other college.

Let us hear from Admissions!

Good news from USGA BB:
