Apps Quest Helpp

Can somebody explain to me how colleges verify what extra curricular you are stating?
I am currently taking private Piano lessons, I have participated in a basketball league and have MVP trophies, I am the Director of a Youth Group in my community, President of Philosophy club.

My question is when I put my Ec's on the UC application, how will they recognize and verify that I am telling the truth?
Im guessing the school will supply them with information regarding me being president of the philosophy club, or is that not true? Because cant anyone just lie and colleges wont have anyway to verify it? That wouldnt be fair.
What about my private lessons and participation in sports outside of school, how will they ask me to verify that?

First, I think that your GC has to see your apps before they are sent in (I'm not sure). Second, colleges do random application checks, where they call schools and make sure that students are telling the truth.

So what if i exxagurate my participation in sports by a year or two will I have a chance of getting caught?

Yes, you have a chance of getting caught.

Also, it shouldn't be about whether or not you'll get caught. What ever happened to good morals/values and personal integrity?
