Hi all... i'm just wondering... what happens if I send my apps/recs or any other stuff to the wrong admissions address? Like... some colleges have multiple addresses according to sites like common app and collegebd so I always went to the primary site. But what if it's like to the wrong address? What would happen to me? thx

First, if you're ever unsure about where to send your apps to (it should be clearly stated on the college's websites), you should e-mail one of the admissions people at the college you're applying to and ask which address it is.

If you send it to the wrong address, the people who received the app might be nice enough to send it to the correct address, but you might get a return to sender, and you will probably have to send the app again. The people who are supposed to get your app will probably contact you if it's past the due date.

Applying online would ensure your application arrives where it is supposed to arrive.

what if my recommenders send it to the wrong place o.O

Give your recommenders stamped, pre-addressed envelopes.

how often would you say the colleges are nice enough to give it to the department it was supposed to be sent to?

bump.... i apologize for my impatience

call the admissions/whatever office you wanted them to arrive to and find out if they did indeed arrive. Hopefully, if not, you can grovel and ask for your rec's to resend and give them new envelopes stamped with the HS's return address. Don't worry just be proactive.

LOL: this posts gets a few stars for "CC Paranoia Rating".

Colleges are dynamic functioning organizations that effectively move lots of mail from dept to dept. A situation like yours is nothing at all to be corrected. Again, to soothe your fears, contact the admissions office w/a telephone call.
