April 1st... who hasn't heard yet?

I still haven't heard from Eastman and I know that others have. Aren't we all supposed to know by April 1 in some way or another? It's not my top choice, but I'm still curious!

Anyone else in my boat?

I’m still waiting to hear either way from McGill! I know how you feel.

S is still waiting for NEC and DePaul. Maybe Monday.

Waiting on McGill as well… Someone on another thread said McGill was rolling out its decisions and would continue doing so into the first week of April.

When I called at the start of last week, I was told that I would hear within the next two weeks. It would be nice to know all of my options sooner rather than later!

I am a transfer, and still waiting to hear from Ithaca College. I know that out of two other students at my school that auditioned the same day as me, one got accepted, and one got rejected…so I have no idea where things stand!

D still waiting on Eastman. Also haven’t heard from Queens College (CUNY)/Aaron Copland SOM.

Also no word from Rutgers/Mason Gross regarding any scholarship money. It’s not going to leave much time to weigh all the options and make a decision!

Parkmama, have your D log on to her Rutgers account, and there’s a link for scholarships. My S thought he hadn’t been offered anything, but when I suggested that he check again, he clicked on the link and found the scholarship offer. It turns out that it had been posted on March 19, and he didn’t know it.

trumpetguysmom,

My S heard back from NEC, but is still waiting on DePaul. Did you check their website? Some people have been saying that it updates prior to the letter arriving.

tubadad, I suggested that S log in to Campus Connect to check, but as far as I know he has not. Our post office is terrible, his Lawrence package came a week later than it was supposed to. If there’s nothing in the mail tomorrow I will have him check.

Eastman is almost always late, but they had improved their time schedule the past couple of years. If you don’t hear anything by tomorrow I think you are fine to call them and inquire- the same with any other school. Good luck to all!

I have also observed that Eastman has been late some years, with acceptances received as late as April 10 - 12 sometimes. Hang in there and don’t give up hope. Try calling.

jazzkat–thanks for the suggestion. D checked, and as of last night, the only thing listed on her Rutgers account is the unsubsidized loan she is being offered. Is it okay if she calls the music department and inquires if she will be offered a scholarship?

I heard Eastman was often late, they even said as much themselves, but then people started reporting getting e-mails last week, while D heard nothing. I’m guessing it depends on the instrument/studio. Can’t wait till this is all over!

D (transfer, soprano) is still waiting to hear from BU (as in Boston) and Hartt (Univ. of Hartford.) She received a letter in yesterday’s snail mail and thought it was going to be THE letter, but it turned out to be an invitation to attend the spring reception and tour campus.

Accepted at URI. Rejected at Ithaca. Hoping for BU or Hartt to come through.

dswinnh, I am posting your daughter’s URI acceptance over at the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1260441-master-list-music-school-acceptances-fall-2012-a-49.html#post14150124

Is this for a Performance major or something else? Please let us know of any other music major acceptances.

Eastman’s website states they will notify grad applicants by April 1st and undergrad applicants by April 15th. Very nice person in Admissions said that the remaining decisions will be sent via email “by April 15th but hopefully earlier.”

This is torture!!!

Extremely excited D just called. She received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Hartt saying “I see you’ve been accepted, do you have any questions?”. She’s home recuperating from a concussion, so she’s not at her best. She was in such (delighted) shock, she’s not even sure how she responded.

I want to celebrate, but I believe nothing until I see it in writing.

I recommended that she call the Admissions office, explain the situation and see what they say. They had told us at our campus visit, that admission decisions would be snail-mailed and not to throw away a thin letter without reading it – they just send a one-pager with the accept/reject decision and a scholarship amount (if any.) The big package comes later. I’d love to be thrilled for her, but what if the phone call was a mistake???

Think of a question or two that she wants to ask (in addition to “Have I been accepted?”) and call the admissions office. Mistakes of that sort are pretty rare, but it would be better to know sooner than later. And if it is not a mistake, you can start planning the celebration for when the letter arrives.
