What do you think the curve ended up being for this ACT in each section? I want to figure out how many I got wrong on each section. My scores were 36 math (i got none wrong here) 32 science 30 english and 29 reading for a composite of 32. I thought the science was hard so do you think there was a lenient curve for that section? Thanks

18, 17, 18 on Math was a 36 still. I have heard that 17, 18, 18 was a 35. I’m guessing the problem I got wrong was ambiguous or something and the ACT decided to ignore that problem.

I doubt it. The 18, 17, 18 was -1. The 17, 18, 18 was -2. Simple as that.

My guesses:
English: 36, 35, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30
Math: 36, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29
Reading: 36, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28
Science: 36, 35, 34, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28

English I’d say 1 off was a 34. I have gotten 3 consecutive 36’s in English, and on this test (although it was my highest com positive) I got my first 34. I got a 35 on science and I remember thinking I did nothing wrong, and I am usually able to judge my test results fairly well. I would say that science must have had little to no curve as well. Math I am generally AWFUL at. I rarely beat a 29, and only once have I achieved a 33 and that was on a practice. To my (pleasant) surprise, I scored a 34 in April! I assumed there was a large curve, but perhaps that is me being hard on myself. Reading I scored 34, but I don’t remember what I thought I would get when I took the test.

Will the curve be modified after everyone’s test is graded? I was one of the first ones to receive my scores (April 30th) but should i be expecting a change in my scores because of possible curve change? i thought that they determine the curve early on and use it for everyone…

pilsburydohboy: nope, what you see is what you get. And nope, they don’t determine it early. They score everyone’s test and then put it under a natural curve to determine the curve so 30 can represent top 5% and 33 & up the top 1%.

thank you for clearing it up for me
