April 8th ACT test takers

Just wanted to say GL to everyone who is taking it this Saturday. What are your goals?

To start, I got a 29 on the December ACT and am shooting for a 32 this time around.

yeah hopefully this one will go better than last....i was sick the last time i took it (feb '05) and got a 26. Ive been studying like crazy this time around, so ill be very disappointed if i dont do better. I guess ill just go in there knowing ill do the best i can, and hopefully itll all work out. Definitely aiming for a 30+ though.

Good Luck everyone!

This is my first ACT and I am aiming for 32+

what time do we have to get to the test center? does the test start at 8, or do we just have to get there by 8?

Anyone got last minute tips???????????????

My tip: do go fast on the math and science part becuase you have all the time in the word to do it.

is there an experimental section? how does that work?
Is this test the easy one in the year?

I am taking it on Saturday as well. Reading and Science are my problems. I run out of time. Math and English my easy ones. I hope I get a break on reading and science.

i'm taking the ACTs for the first time!! goodluck to those taking it this saturday...oh man it's so soon

Rudy, I would recommend you get there by 7:50 at max, because the earlier you get there, the better.
Excel, no there is no experimental section on the ACT so that is definitely a plus point. No, the easiest test is administered in June.

This is my first one and I hope it goes well. I've been doing well on the practices tests (only missing a max of 3 per section) so I hope to get at least a 32 on this. I just hope i'm not the victim of high expectations.

This is my first time. I just need to read carefully and I'll do fine. I was told that at the college I am taking it at that the desks are very small, so small you cant even hold a book on it. So you either have to overlap all the papers or hold the book on your lap :( But onside of that, I am aiming for 30+, hopefully more around 32-36.... we will see ;) When are the breaks?
Patrick

I'd really like to get a 34+ (but who wouldn't?)

From the real practice tests from 'The Real ACT prep' book i've taken this week though, it's not looking good. I had 30 composite on the first two and a 31 on the third. Oh well, going to make the best of it. I'll be semi-satisfied if I can get a 32.

you know, mo24, its people like you that i really just cant stand on here. semi-satisfied with a 32? there are millions of highscoolers who only dream of breaking 30, and to think youd be upset with that score? get over yourself, its just a test.

rhunter2007, that sounds like a pretty ignorant comment to me. Mo24 just has higher standards than the other "millions of highschoolers." This doesn't mean that hes being arrogant or anything of that sort, it just means that mo24, probably based on practice tests, believes that he could/should get at least a 32+. To each his own. Every person has their own expectations. It is stupid to say that everyone should be happy with a 29 when many people know they are capable of much more. I understand that you, rhunter2007, may be angry at him because you feel frustrated or something along those lines, by not being able to reach a high score yourself. Well, as you said, "its just a test."

I disagree he seems like a person on other fourms who would ask., Should I take a 2310? <-- and yes there is a thread like this currently.

Yes...I did see that thread...and responded, too. lol. But I'm with him on this. I want a 33 or more, but on every practice test I've gotten a 30-33. I'll be okay with a 32 or less, but I definitely would like a higher score since I'm probably going to apply to a few Ivies and I don't have much in terms of hooks and such other than grades/course selection. Meh, but that's just me.

By the way, do ACT scores come online or what? And if they do, when are they available if I'm taking the 4/8 test?

i took it and got a 24 my first time, looking to get a 26+ i also am taking the writing portion for the second time because im looking at MSU and you have to take it to get in there. deff. get there at least 15 min. early just to find your class room and get ready for the test.

Why not retake a 2310 if you can improve it.. It is not about whether the score is good or not, it is about if you personally can improve on it.

I'm gonna shoot for:

32+ English
29-33 Math
30-34 Reading
30+ Science

A composite of 30+ would be great.

i'm not really aiming for anything. i seem to have a record with aiming for something and then failing miserably. so i figure if i just go into it and to my best then i'll do ok

hey guys,
im sincerely sorry if my comments offended anyone, i have just been kinda on the edge lately, and a little frustrated with my own score as you said. Anyways, I just got done taking the practice test that was in a booklet that i got from my GC. I ended up with a 33 composite (34E, 29M, 35R, 32S), which was kindof a shock for me. The test seemed really easy to me (except the math). Has anyone else taken this test, and do you think this could be an accurate prediction for tomorrows test? Considering the fact that i did get a 26 last year, im a little skeptical of this huge jump....any help is welcome, and once again, good luck!
