Anyone else going to the April Hosting program? What are your thoughts, expectations, etc?

I'm going! I'm really excited to see Princeton for the first time and I really hope that I like it as much as I think I will. My best friend's older brother is a junior and he has decided to steal me away from my host and show me around one night or something, so that should be fun. I know Princeton will be "putting on a show," but I'm worried that we might miss some element of the real Princeton experience or whatever.

Actually, I'm just really excited about meeting people and stuff. I'm sure it'll be fun!

Actually, you get a really good feel for the school and all the groups and stuff from the little show they put on for y'all.

But just wandering around the campus is also a good thing to do...assuming it's not freezing like it is this weekend!

im checking the forecast for princeton like everyday to see what i need to bring. apparently, all my clothing isn't warm enough. any advice on what to definitely bring? (i've never been in weather colder than 45ish degrees.)

i'm excited also!

I'm decently excited. What I'm actually looking to get out of this the most is a look from a student's perspective. Having visited Princeton on something like 20 separate occasions, and attended training camps there etc., I have a good feeling for almost everything at the school - but from the perspective of a non-student. I really hope Hosting will get me that inside look - because more likely than not it will make the difference in the tough choice I'm facing.

My son is attending. At first, he wasn't going to attend, since he has already made up his mind that he will be a proud member of the Princeton Class of 2011. But he heard that the admit weekend is great to get to know students, etc.
1of42, have you narrowed down your choice in schools to a couple or few?

There's probably no need to be freaked out. :) Though I've lived in southern California my entire life, I'm fine right now in Princeton with a long sleeve shirt and a light jacket. An extra T-shirt to go on top of the long sleeve shirt would probably be enough for most, and an extra sweater would be the max (and very likely overkill).

CMA: Princeton vs. Caltech.

1of42, I guess you are from California? I hope you choose princeton, but understand you have to make the choice that fits you best. good luck

Actually, I'm from Toronto Canada. :P

Well, welcome to the USA! We hope to see you at Princeton.

Just so you guys all know, us hosts just got the specs for tomorrow.
We'll be picking you up at Dillon Gym at 430 PM. And yes, like someone said, there is an AMAZING show called "this is princeton" that you all absolutely must attend (Friday I believe, you'll see in your packets)

I'm in Cap, and just fyi as a general sense of what else is going on, (obviously all clubs are off tap this weekend) we're having a huge dry party on thursday and a huge hold-em tourney Friday.

See you all tomorrow!

This show...does it have laser cats?
