Yes, and I talked to them before also.. and that was the date they gave people. In reality though.. they mailed them out yesterday I just talked to someone today. I am 100% positive that it was all mailed out yesterday.... you can call if you'd like to ask.

I just received my letter... (ACCEPTED!!!)... so I'm assuming that the letters were mailed yesterday.

Sweet! go on to the admitted message board

only 12.5 hours of waiting left...

...something is tellin me that it is gonna be a small envelope tho...:(

Yes, we are scared to death at our house, too. S was rejected from another school this week and ND is his top choice, so we are almost dreading the mail tomorrow...

Me too, actually.

Out of curiosity... was it a packet or simply an acceptance letter in a regular size envelope?

EA acceptances came in a packet. I assume RD is the same.

HAs anyone on the east coast got letters? i'm nervous because of that speculation acceptances went out first. i live in MA and no news yet

I may as well have written the message you submitted. I don't know about anyone else out there, but after checking the mail everyday (accept Sundays) for the last month, it has become increasingly agonizing to wait for Notre Dame. I have been accepted to all of the other schools I applied to, accept for 1 1/2: William & Mary, RD + Marquette, WaitList. I am thankful for my acceptance to St. Mary's, but ND is the last one left to hear from and the only school I reeeaaaaly want to go to. I am even excited to experience the Indiana weather - definitely different from SoCal :).

I haven't recieved anthing here in New York either. After being waitlisted at Duke and Georgetown, and rejected at Brown, Dartmouth, and Columbia, Notre Dame is now my first choice. Im really nervous and waiting is just driving me crazy.

Do you think it's possible for the mail to travel from south bend to NY in 2 days or will I have to wait until monday?

Son just got a one page letter-sized REJECTION! His 2nd one this week. He'll be going to Purdue now.

I sit here on my computer, watching through the window that shows our mailbox here in Southern California. The thing that kinda boggles my mind, is that all of these hopefuls (and you're all extremely bright, those of you that have posted stats) don't seem to be worried too much about the cost. Now, living in So Cali and being in the middle class doesn't make me poor, but even IF I was accepted to ND and entered their five year Arch program, I would leave with 200,000 dollars of debt. 5 years at roughly forty grand will do that to you. Now are you all just fabulously independently wealthy, or so poor that you know you'll get boatloads of aid, because I seem to fall right in the middle, middle class that COULD afford but would have to go into boatloads of debt. I have heard from some that the debt is worth it, and from others that it really isn't. I was just wondering how y'all were affording the education. Thanks.

I am definitely in that dilemma, I am thinking of just going to the U of WA because it would be so much cheaper and I want to go to grad school, so at a school like ND (which is now irrelevant since I was waitlisted) 160,000 plus say 2 years minimum at graduate school, you get a whopping 240,000! Man I have a sizable college fund, but it isn't that big! I feel like instead of putting such a massive financial burden on my family I should just go to the UW. It is interesting that people don't express much worry about the $$$ because they are so distracted by the admissions themselves. I know I am worried about it and it is good to see I am not alone.

Nothing came in the mail on Saturday. Hopefully, something will arrive on Monday.

catsmeow87....you are going to have the best future, because you are already showing your adaptability and your ability to be realistic about such an emotional situation. ND should have accepted you. i haven't heard yet, but i know i won't handle it as well as you if i get waitlisted or rejected. anyway, you should be so proud...

Tookie i am just curious. Is your son Catholic?

No, and I think that's one reason he didn't get in. He was ready to convert!

I'm just curious, did the application require you to state your religion? I thought that it didn't. My daughter has CCD teacher's aide as one of her EA's, but other than that, I don't know how they would know that she was Catholic. Am I missing something?

OOPS! I apologize. Just checked PDF version of the application on the ND website, and there it was under Personal Info.
