APs in UCLA

I will have 60 ap credits... do they have a cap or will they allow to have all those credits? seems like too much to me.

They will give you all the credits but not all credits can be use to let you skip out of a class.

you're not alone. i calculated my friend's credits and she will have something near that many as well.

all it means is you'll be a sophomore when you enter ucla. and in two quarters, you'll be a junior. so you'll have junior standing your spring quarter of your freshman year, just like my friend... dayumm!

i had 36 and i thought THAT was a lot... how wrong i was ;)

Only downside with so many APs is that you can't take any Community college courses once you're over 105 units I believe.

All reported AP credit will count towards the minimum unit required to graduate, but will not affect your unit max (they just add those AP credits to the 216 cap so your unit max on your DPR will say 276 units). They'll mostly be empty units (units that are just there but won't count towards anything), but if you want to see the specifics of what counts for what, you can go to link in the second point in http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=364259

Thanks..i get it now.

raseaganx, that's only partly true. once you hit 105 credits, you cannot take community college classes FOR UNIT CREDIT. you can still take them for requirement credit (i.e. writing II req., language req., etc.) you just won't get any units for them. i believe.

So if I take a writing II over at a CC, then I don't need to take it here I just won't get the units?

CL&S:
Once you have accumulated 105 units of college credit, you will no longer be eligible to receive unit credit from course work done at a community college. You can use community college coursework to satisfy other college and university requirements, however.
HSSEAS:
If you will have 105 or more quarter units of credit you WILL NOT get credit for any course taken at a community college. :/
