APs???

Is it a good idea to take many AP tests and get 4/5 on most of them?
I mean, is taking AP tests other than those you take classes at school to prove that you can study by yourself on extra APs and get good scores help a lot on admissions???

I'm just curious, because I'm taking 5 APs this year, junior year, three of which I studied independently. (I'm taking all possible AP classes offered at my school except those for languages that I didn't learn)

After all, I'll have 8 or 9 APs by my senior year, about 4 of which I studied independently. Do you think it helps?? or Am I wasting my time???

i am in your situation and i think that if it's a 4/5 it will help, but if it is a 3 or below, it could hurtt... so if ur going to learn it independently, then do it will... btw, what subjects are u learning independently?

Um,,, ComSciA, Chem, PhysicsCMech, and MicroEcon.

I took computer programming, Honors chemistry and Honors physics, but they were no AP classes in my school, so,,

Physics C Mechanics is easy if you have a calc background and are good at your current honors physics class.
Chem shouldnt be bad, just a little extra stuff from a normal honors curriculum
mirco/macro econ are easy

ckmets13,,,

so,,,??? Are you telling me that I don't have to worry or work too much, or that my extra works won't help me much?

no offense btw, just curious,,

im just saying that the ones you picked are very possible to self study

so, good choices, huh? haha IoI or dumb, easy choices?? TT

i'm confused. if ap scores dont affect college admissions how can how scores hurt?
do you mean hurt as not getting college credit?
or like, colleges not approving certain students.
bcus i got 1's on 3 aps...(bcus i'm almost certain i got 1s on two i took this year...)
when the test comes up, my anxiety blasts up and i panic.
obsessive compulsive disorder is a real pain ugh.

I think you don't have to show your AP scores though,,

bump
(haha, ive never used this phrase. i am still new to this board, and ive seen other pplz use it when they want more help or something)
so bump :)

you just used 4 lines to describe the "bump" ....... silent

AP scores:
1-2 ---> bad
3 ---> so/so
4-5 ---> excellent

it really depends on the situation, like a 1/2 could hurt u since colleges would think, that your just not capable of the college load, or that ur a slackerr.... however, if u send one of ur ap score, then all of ur ap scores are sent. also, the aps are not lik the sat 2's in that u cant retake an ap test... so if u do have 1/2 or even 3s, then just work harder, and to nobodyjay, colleges would probably excuse due to ur disorderr... so really, if ur going to take an ap test, then do it well...

I thought we could hide AP scores selectively,,, is that not true???

Yes you can hide the AP scores.
