APUSH DBQs and FRQs.

My teacher has a pretty intense format that he wants us to follow:

1) Introduction
2) Historical background
3-5) Support paragraphs
6) Concession (Some historians may argue that... but they're wrong because...)
7) Conclusion

It's hard to fit this in 45 minutes, but my class and I can sorta actually manage now due to a lot of practice. BUT I'd feel a lot better if some of you got 9s with 5-paragraph essays. :) Have you?

Also, for DBQs, does quantity of documents used matter a lot? I've only used 3 in every DBQ test in class so far (due to time constraints), and I've been getting 8s. If I can actually get an 8, I'd be happy, but do the AP graders consider the quantity more than my teacher does? The rubric seems to weigh quantity pretty heavily.

Only three more weeks, guys! :D

I basically do that format, without the concession part. It’s pretty difficult to do 5 paragraph DBQ’s, simply because there are so many different topics integrated into one question.

The number of documents used is definitely very important. I don’t see how you got 8’s by using 3 (less than 50% of the documents). The balance between document citation and outside info is crucial and I almost always use all of the documents (getting mostly 8’s like you).
