APUSH Essay 2

flipsta I honestly still believe that the higher scorers generally use all or close to all of the documents for U.S history. All of my friends that have done so have received 5's on the exam. Im just saying what my teacher that was a former reader told us.

My teacher used to be a reader as well, and he said that as long as you use more than half of the docs, you should be all set. I used 5 docs on the DBQ and I got a 5 on APUS

i chose that essay and got a 5...not a fan of the Mexican war, although once i figured out what the prompt of the one i did was asking (in the middle of my introduction), i should have chosen the Mexican war instead. :)

I chose Mexican War...it wasn't too bad

I didn't really know the neither the Virginia/Massachusetts one nor the Mexican war, but I knew I could BS the Mexican war one, and that's what I did.

My DBQ kicked ass, my essay on the 60's/70's was pretty good, mexican war was sub-par...I ended up getting a 5. I was happy cause my teacher was horrible and I only studied the night before.

I got a 5 and chose essay number 2. I didnt think it was hard. The mexican war one seemed much more picky.

yes i got a 5! my essays were poo though, especially number 2

You don't necessarily have to refer to every document. I referred to about 5 I think. The documents are there to remind you of certain subjects or areas; you are supposed to rely a lot on your own outside knowledge.

It helped a lot that my teacher had given us a similar DBQ as practice before. (I got a 5 on the test.)

Sure you are not supposed to use the documents for the information they contain but i was always told to include every document somewhere in the essay. Maybe that was just my teachers way of making us write perfect essays.

i did essays 2 and 4. i had no idea about how immigration changed or about the differences between virginia/massachusetts, but my dbq was kickass. still, it was surprising when i saw i got a 5 in us and not in chemistry :( :(
