APUSH Help!(No, this isn't a homework question)

I'm having difficulty with multiple choice tests, something that accounts for 90% of my grade. No matter how many times I read the chapter and notes, nothing seems to benefit me. I feel that all of the questions are interpretive thinking questions. They are questions that I'm supposed to use what I know to assume or guess the right answer. Personally, I'm not the best at these questions. Does anyone have any ideas or know of any websites that I could use to practice multiple choice questions? It's infuriating because it's always between two options and I end up picking the wrong answer. It doesn't seem like studying more is necessarily helping. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them. I already tried doing some research on this. My book's website just has true or false questions, sparknotes is helpful in comprehending the material, but not necessarily helpful for multiple choice, cramster doesn't have history(:(), and the hippo website uses the exact same notes as my teacher. Anyway, let me know:)

That’s the difference between AP and Honors. It passes the point of memorization and moves on to application.

My only advice is when reviewing key concepts through flashcards, think of all the implications and surrounding information of the term you just reviewed.

hi!
I received a D in APUSH and I was the only kid who received a 5 on the AP exam
how did I do it?

I purchased the Princeton review APUSH book
it does the thinking for you, it tells you what you must connect ( like how to war of 1812 led to the civil war)

I strongly recommended it!
If it help me it wil help you

its has many strategies on how to answer multiple choice questions as well

O, ok, I actually already have it so I should probably look through it haha

I know that it’s supposed to be harder. I see your point and I’ll try to work on it. Thanks for the websites!

What textbook does your class use? I suggest getting AMSCO. I read through the respective sections the night before a quiz/test to supplement my notes from the Pageant. It explains the important details in a lucid, succinct manner, and there are a few practice multiple choice questions as well :)

O really? Is it a book? I’m using American Pageant. Thanks for the suggestion!

^ Yea. From what I heard, it’s the number 1 resource for AP U.S History- especially for the AP exam in May! And so far it has helped me in the class as well. Good luck!

I am an international and AP us was really challenging for me. Everything Is from the book. If you know the book, you will know the answers. No joke, but I seriously memorized Every Single word on american pageant like. word by word and received an A on the test. But then I failed all the other subjects because I spent all my time on history. So I chose to concentrate on other subjects and abandon history and happily failed tests afterwards. Received a C+ for the year. ~ The End~

Nothing is straight out of the book for me. It’s mainly interpretation. Thanks for the website and information! You guys are awesome:)

I feel sorry for the people using American Paegant. I used that book last year, and it was the wordiest monster of a textbook that I ever read. I still remember a few memorable lines from it, like “the colonists were explosively restive under the British yoke” and “the government, feather-by-feather, plucked the establishment of its bearings.” So much unneccessary language, lmao.

However, whichever textbook you do have, I agree with the posters above. Reading the textbook closely and actively helps you a great deal, as, when you read something pertinent to something in the book, it just clicks in your mind.

I love the Pageant. It actually makes an attempt at wordplay and humor.

“He [Adams] was even accused of having procured a servant girl for the lust of the Russian tsar–in short, of having served as a pimp.”

LOL
