Do you think it is better for me to get a B, possible C, in APUSH, or A in regular us history with my schedule?
Ap calc
Ap Econ

I’m not planning on majoring in history in college, but at the same time would colleges be put off and see it as me not “pushing myself”? Pls be honest, thank you!
Can you drop to ECON regular and thus spend more time on APUSH?
It’s better if you have a B in APUSH than an A in regular, but getting a C wouldn’t be good so ask your GC whether you’d be allowed to drop down during the year if you see you do badly in APUSH.
Your schedule is very rigorous as it is so if you don’t have time for it you could presumably take regular, but rather than regular the best option would be to keep APUSH (core AP) and drop economics to regular (complentary AP so not as important).
An a in the regular class beats a C in the AP by a mile. This may sound like heresy but, in fact, at UCs and CSUs, a 4.0 with a slack schedule beats a 3.8 with a rigorous one.
For most colleges, a 2-3 APs Jr year is plenty. I’m going to caution you on AP Calc…I am sure it varies by HS but, countless local kids have spent many hours and still earned a D/F in that class, stressing them out and tubing their GPA - and chances for top UCs are you sure you want to do that to yourself?
The right choice for you will depend on your aptitude, target schools and current stats. Assuming you are a good student, if you were my kid, I"d have you back off to just AP Econ and and English and spend the extra time on an EC like a sport/club.
APUSH is useful at the UCs (and probably the CSUs) to satisfy the American Institutions requirement. AP Econ is the least useful on your list. It depends on the school, but ours had better teachers for the AP classes and seemingly less busy work.
