Hi, I want to apply priority filling to AHS (applied health sciences) under Speech and Hearing Sciences.
Technically, I'm an American citizen but I've lived almost my entire life in Saudi Arabia. I'm half Egyptian/Half Yemeni and I speak English and Arabic fluently, have taken Spanish in school and am self teaching myself Korean. My Gpa is 3.4-3.5 (somewhere in between I'm not 100% positive) and my SAT score is 1750, but I'm taking it again in 5 days so I'm hoping to get at least an 1800+. As for extra curriculars, I've gone to Honor Choir three times and Honor Band 4 times. I am a part of Habitat for Humanity and went on a trip to Cambodia to build houses. I am also a part of the EFFECT club which basically does things like recycling and cleaning up our campus. I received a scholarship last summer from the US State Department to study in Korea for 6 weeks. The scholarship was called NSLIY if you've ever heard of it. I'm also a Teacher's Assistant, if that counts for anything haha. I've been playing Bass Clarinet since the 6th grade and I love to sing. As for honors & AP's, I don't have anything too impressive. I took Honors Bio in 10th grade and this year I'm taking Honors Chemistry and AP Psych.
What do you guys think? I know that AHS is one of the least competitive colleges in UIUC so i'm hoping i have a better chance of getting in, especially if its priority filling.

You should not assume AHS is “one of the least competitive” of the colleges. Though it has a somewhat lower middle 50% range than some of the others, it is selective and is partuclarly keen on trying to accept those who really want to be in the college and are not just trying to use it as a vehicle for entry so they can later transfer to a different college. Thus, ECs and essays are important and your ECs, including language skills, should help so do not hestitate to mention them in the app. Raising your SAT would also help. Your GPA sounds a little low although I have nothing to compare it with since it is from a foreign school. Since you are a US citizen, you should apply as one even though living in a foreign country.

well my school is an american school, so its just as low/high as it would be in the states. Also, what do you recommend I aim for as my SAT score?
