Arabic programs that focus on speaking I.E. dialects

Hey,

Does anyone know of different schools that focus more on dialects and speaking than just MSA? I don't have a specific dialect interest, I'm just trying to find the better programs that are integrated with speaking and reading.

Great financial aid is also a plus~

Thanks guys!

Just off the top of my head, I believe Brandeis has one of the top Arabic programs in the country. As does Harvard. Don’t know anything about your specific questions, but wife has a friend who graduated from both those programs with degrees in Semitic languages and now works as a translator in the Middle East.

(At least that’s what she claims. She may be CIA, NSA, or Mossad for all I know.)

Check out the Arabic Language Flagship Programs:
[The Language Flagship - Arabic](http://www.thelanguageflagship.org/arabic)
All of them incorporate opportunities for learning colloquial dialects along with MSA.

As always I throw one other possibility at you in that perhaps one of the best language schools in the nation is the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. You would study there for the better part of a year and a half and then be guaranteed work for 3 years after that in the Army, Air Force, Navy or Marines.

In addition, you would graduate with an Associate’s degree and be able to put money aside while serving into the GI Bill and have a great head start on college financially:
