Is anyone familiar with the archaeology dept. & admission to the major? DD is a jr & very interested but we're still trying to learn about the program.

Yes, I’m a freshmen archaeology/computer science major! You don’t have to apply to the arch dept, just the school in general. All the faculty I’ve met so far are great. If you have any specific questions I can try to answer them

Thanks for replying, I couldn’t tell from their description if they required a specific admission. What are the class sizes? How do you live living on campus? Do you know anything about the singing groups?

^For archaeology specifically?

The intro class (190b) has ~230 students enrolled this semester. The large size is because it’s an easy class for several groups to get an SS requirement out of the way.

Upper level classes have less than 40, and usually less than 20.

Class sizes have a broad range - the intro to arch. class is big, but after that they get pretty small (in the 5-40 range). Right now I’m in one with only 8 people.

The campus here is amazing. The dorms, the architecture, the food, its all fantastic. I don’t know much about the singing groups, although many of my friends are involved in them
