Hello everybody,
im recently admitted to Cal Poly Pomona since May. Not long after submitting my portfolio, I received back the letter from Environmental Design Architecture Department, as they said “Your portfolio was reviewed by the Architecture Undergraduate Admissions Committee, and, as a result of that review we are offering you placement in ENV 101/L for Fall 2012”. Thus my question is: does that mean I am only allowed to take only 1 class there (ENV 101/L)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey lxlinh,
I’m an arch major as well :]
I believe that ENV 101/ 101L is the first class in the sequence of design classes for arch major in the 5-year plan. It doesn’t mean that it’s the only class you can take. You’ll have other GE and electives to take as well. As for design classes, I believe you can only take one at a time. It serves as a prereq for the next design class in the sequence.

I don’t know if you’re a freshman or transfer but being placed in ENV 101, I’m pretty sure
it means your standing is a first-year/beginning level arch student with regards to the design class sequence.

And it sounds like you haven’t gone on your orientation but when you do, an adviser may be able to answer your question better. He/she will help you through the class selection process for the first quarter as well :]

hi, thanks so much for ur help.
Yes, my orientation is in 2 weeks, and i am a transferred student. So the adviser will provide me the list of GE and elective classes that i need to take on the orientation day?

No problem :]
My orientation is in about 2 WKS too. I think all arch major (at least transfers or both freshmen and transfers; I forgot) has the same orientation day. There wasn’t many dates to choose from, only 1 day. lol
And I bet you already saw from the other thread and have an idea of how orientation is going to be. I don’t know if the adviser will give you a list but I’m sure they’ll be able to recommend classes and answer questions about how certain classes fulfill which requirements :]

That 's great … alright, I will make sure to write down all the questions that i needa ask …thank you :)

No problem :]

Do they offer the program for Bachelor of Interior Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona?

Not at the undergraduate level. It’s only at the masters level. You may want to look up interior design degrees in the area.

[Interior Design Schools California Schools with Interior Design Programs CCIDC](http://www.ccidc.org/schools.html#LosAngeles)

aw man… i really like interior architecture but already done with admission process in Cal Poly Pomona, I even already enrolled the classes too and find out they dont offer interior arch at Pomona … what should i do?

You could transfer out of CPP if that’s what you want to do. Meet with your adviser or a counselor if you can right now. If not wait until the quarter begins.

I really hope you’re a Freshman.

i am a transfer student :(
