I completely disagree with anyone who thinks you will not have the necessary prerequisites to succeed. When a student follows through on the 3-2 program, they have an additional year of study at the liberal arts college, where they are able to to take both more science and math classes as well as more social science and humanities classes. As far are engineering classes, taken in the sophomore year, the most recommended LAC major is Physics. If you major in physics, in addition to taking the typical college Physics I & II, LAC Physics major also have to take courses in Quantum Waves, Electromagnetism, Electronics & Computers, Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Vibrations. Take it from an engineer, these are very similar if not identical to their counterparts with an engineering designation. These will cover mechanical, electrical, computer, civil and structural engineering. And these are way more engineering courses than what a student at a typical 4 year engineering program will see in the first two years of their education. The additional year of education in this program simply provides students better preparation both in terms of technical classes as well as non-technical.
