<p>Are there any colleges out there that put a large or almost equal value on the writing section?</p>
<p>I know UC's say M=V=W in importance and Cooper Union averages the verbal and math. Is there anyone else?</p>
<p>Pomona College said at one of their admissions seminars that they will download all of the SAT essays and compare them with the students' application essays. They said they will be "finding their way" when asked exactly how much importance they will place on them.</p>
<p>Most colleges don't put any or much emphasis on them this first year, but quite a large number will increase its importance as 1.no one or very few will have taken the writing sat2 and 2.they can see a general trend in the scores</p>
