Are any colleges still accepting applications for Fall '12? Desired major is STEM.

Missouri University of Science & Technology is a well-regarded engineering school with less selective admissions. I don’t know the application deadline, but I would guess it is relatively late.

Another reason for the poor judgements was that my stats aren’t reflecting my competitiveness very accurately, at least that’s what I try to believe. Hah.

My toefl score is 104. Good enough for most proficiency requirement, phew

Yep… I was filling out applications in frenzy during the last 3 hours. If only they could all use common app! So far I submitted my scores and application to Penn State, SUNY Buffalo, Rose-Hulman, Iowa State, and U Iowa. I’m exhausted and I need lots of, lots of sleep now in order to prepare for the dreadful paper chase tomorrow. Just think about these forms to be printed out and stamped, and the sprints to school for sealed envelops…

Ughhhh I just wish this whole hectic race could end soon. These procedures are not part of the plan. All I want is to enjoy a challenging environment with like-minded where we could pursue learning just for the sake of learning. Is something as simple as this too much to ask for?!!?

mom2collegekids, Thank you so much for your help, one more question, do you think my current school list is ‘safe’ enough?

If Iowa State is still accepting students, I think that might be your best chance.

Good luck!!

SUNY-Buffalo will also likely accept you but do look at the weather situation there…could you handle that? Would it be too shocking?

Iowa State is a great place and a top 50 engineering school. They have one of the largest engineering career fairs in the country in Spring and Fall…about 300 employers. Fantastic residence life system…apply for housing ASAP so you don’t get stuck in a crappy res hall.

Corprate recruiters rank Iowa State #14 in the country for engineering recruiting.

Almost 2,000 undergrad international students (8% of undergrads).

You can do a whole lot worse than Iowa State for engineering.

Another places to look at…Arizona State University. I believe they have rolling admissions. ASU has a whole is not highly ranked but their business and engineering programs are better than many of the schools talked about on CC.

With your more recent list, you should have sufficient match and safety schools.

Once you know which schools you are accepted at, please provide an update, and we can give advice on which school to attend.

I certainly will, provided that I am accepted at >1 schools!

Thank you so much. I am beyond grateful for all the help!
