Yea! Sometimes peer pressure is a real blessing! Congrats to you and your DD!

I know you're breathing a sigh of relief, fireflyscout. DD has turned in all of her applications, thank goodness. One of her teachers hasn't yet sent in the letter of recommendation, but promises to do it by the beginning of next week. Really, I'm not so worried about it because the school just needed one letter from a teacher, but DD asked two teachers. I'm sure my DD occasionally (okay, always!) dreaded hearing me mention the applications, but the sooner she got them in, the sooner I could breathe a sigh of relief. I know it's not about me, but it sure is easier to concentrate on other things now that she's done it all. MoT and FFS, I do miss our talks on the Rhodes board. Is your DD still interested, FFS?

Me too, SplashMom! Glad to know you are nearly through, too. Hope the teacher spends good time on the last rec and that you will then rest! Did your D apply to Rhodes?

"The duct tape on my mouth is a bit uncomfortable, but it's a sacrifice I'll make if it means I can go for a few days without an eye-roll or glare."

Are you using the traditional gray duct tape, or have you seen some of the fashion colors available at the hardware store? So, my last visit was 11-08-2004. Went through the process with my son. Now, it's time for my daughter, also known by her indian name, Rolling Eyes. She's changed her major more than her shoes, lately, the roster of school applications is ever-changing. I said the word, focus, under my breath and I think her glare turned me to stone for a good three minutes. I noticed something in The Parent's Cafe with the word, sinners, in it...may need to lurk there for a bit.

Wifecamaromom: Per my daughter's recommendation, I use gaffer's tape (used for film projects and doesn't leave a residue). I've been mercifully eye-roll and glare-free for several days now, but tonight I mentioned the E word and received the "Mother, you poor deluded creature" look. She's versatile, I'll give her that! See you at Sinner's Alley (I'll be the one slumped at a back table and avoiding eye contact)...

Ah, Splashmom and Momofthree, it's like old times! Yes, D is definitely interested in Rhodes. She'll "get around" to that application in December. Splashmom - you lucky mom - congratulations to Splashdaughter getting her apps done!

I'm hoping the teacher spends a good deal of time on it, too. I believe she will. She once e-mailed me a glowing letter about DD after a conversation they had, so I think the recommendation should be good. DD did not apply to Rhodes. Sadly, her personal experience during her overnight was not good and she removed them from her list completely. I do, however, think it is a fabulous school and would absolutely encourage people to apply there!

FFS, I'm sure your DD will soon have her applications complete and I know you will join many of us parents in a collective sigh of relief. :)
